How to verify a Shanghai international department
A source-checking guide for provider identity, international request channels, administrative scope, fees, scheduling, and clinical authority in Shanghai.
Labels such as international department, VIP department, tertiary hospital, or Class-3A may appear in public records, but a label alone does not establish a current service, an international request channel, or access through MediBridge. This guide explains what to verify before relying on any provider listing.
Confirm five records directly from a current, attributable source: the facility's legal identity and location; the department's exact name and administrative scope; the authorized request channel; the current process for overseas enquiries; and the provider's own fee, payment, and scheduling record. Record the source date because processes can change.
Verify the relationship separately. A MediBridge directory entry is a recorded reference under source review; it does not establish affiliation, endorsement, privileged access, availability, acceptance, clinical fit, or an outcome. Ask the named provider to confirm any claimed relationship and channel before sharing sensitive information.
Keep administrative help separate from clinical authority. A coordinator may help organize questions, translation requests, appointment enquiries, and travel logistics only when those actions are actually confirmed. A licensed provider decides whether to review information, accept a request, offer an appointment, or discuss care.
